How to read Instagram messages without them knowing in 2024

Here are some of the easy steps to read Instagram direct messages (DMs) without them knowing and avoid opening their chat:

1. Open Instagram profile>three dots menu

Go to the Instagram profile that you want to read messages from without them knowing. Find and click the three-dot menu on the top right corner of their profile.

2. Find and click ‘Restrict’ in the options

Select “Restrict.” This will restrict them on Instagram. After restricting them, their messages will disappear from your DM’s and will be in your message requests.

3. Now open their profile and click ‘Message.’

Open their DMs or click ‘Message’ in their profile.

4. After that, read the messages as you want.

You can also read the messages from your Instagram message requests.

5. Now go back to their profile and ‘Unrestrict’ them.

If you wish, you can now ‘Unrestrict’ them by following the same steps as mentioned above. The messages will again appear in your DM’s without any notification of seeing them.

Method 2: Using the mSpy app

Method 5: Airplane mode as a savior

You can also use Android or iPhone’s Airplane mode to save the day without them knowing that you’ve read their messages on Instagram. Here’s how:

1. Turn on Airplane mode or disable the internet connection.
2. Open Instagram and read the messages.
3. Close the Instagram app.
4. Turn off Airplane mode or enable the internet connection.

But please note that after you restore the Internet, chances are that Instagram will surely let them know with “Seen” mark.

Method 6: Disable read receipts in the Instagram DMs

To open Instagram messages without being seen, you can just disable the seen or read receipts from within the app. Just follow these steps:

1. Disable read receipts in your Instagram settings.
2. Open the Instagram app and read the messages.
3. Close the app without marking the messages as read.
