After Facebook F8, Google cancels Google I/O, its annual developer conference. The decision was made due to concerns over widely spreading coronavirus. Google I/O 2020 was scheduled to take place from March 13-14 in Mountain View, California.

Not only this, but Facebook also canceled F8, its annual developer conference last week. MWC 2020, which is the biggest mobile show in the world, also got canceled by GSMA because of coronavirus fears. Companies like Oppo are also holding their events online to prevent the gathering and spread of the virus.

For the tickets buyers, Google will offer full refunds through March 13. Google I/O website says,

“Due to concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC, WHO, and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel the physical Google I/O event at Shoreline Amphitheatre.”

If you’re an attendee and paid for the ticket, Google will also grant you a 2021 I/O ticket without entering for next year’s drawing.
